Vice Chair of Governors, Board appointed 29/09/15
I have been a parent governor at Carclaze since Autumn 2015 and currently supporting Maths and Science.
As a chartered chemical engineer, I am currently the Minerals Technology Manager at Imerys and I am hugely passionate about both subjects. My wife Emma works in the school office and I have two daughters in years 5 and Reception, both of whom are thriving in the Carclaze environment. It's a privilege for me to give something back to the community.
Mrs Ann Teague
Teacher/Governor Finish date: 31/1/19
I have taught at both the Infant and now the Primary schools since 2000. It is a privilege to give back to the community that I have grown up in. I have been the Maths Lead since 2014 and work with the other Maths leaders in our trust. I also meet and train with Maths leaders outside of the trust through professional development with the Cornwall and West Devon Maths Hub. It is in this role that I achieved the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership in 2016. This has been an exciting career change as previously I led Music and specialised in Literacy, developing speech and language opportunities as a result of MA(Ed) research (2003). I enjoy working at Carclaze because at the heart of our school there has always been a community of people that cares, believes and works together to develop the whole child.
Miss Karen Littler
I have worked at Carclaze School (Infant School Initially) since February 2009 and I have been the Student Support Governor since the summer of 2015. I have worked across all of Key Stage 1 and 2 supporting class groups and individual pupils. I now teach Spanish throughout Key Stage 2. I really enjoy the variety and versatility of my role including the rewarding responsibilities of governor.
Mrs Helen Knight
Board Appointed Governor 12/05/17
I have been a parent governor since July 2017. I currently have 2 children in the school with my eldest child now at Penrice having enjoyed her time at Carclaze. My background is that I have been a primary school teacher since 1997. I have taught all ages from 4-11 and I was a member of the senior leadership team at my last school. My life took a massive turn of events when I was diagnosed with a serious illness in 2015. I am now enjoying family time and voluntary work whilst I fully recover. I am still passionate about education and believe that my experience and expertise will play a valuable role in helping Carclaze on their continual desire for excellence and achievement.

I have been a parent governor since 2014 at Carclaze. I was previously a governor at both the Infants and Junior Schools before the new school was built. I have two older children that started their schooling at Carclaze, I also have one child currently in Year 4 and one child who will be starting Foundation in September 2018. I have worked for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service for 24 years and enjoy being part of the governing body, providing challenge and support to Mr Pollard and his staff, on behalf of parents.
Mrs Sophie Bertholon
Board Appointed Governor 02/10/17- 31/01/19
I joined the team in November 2017 and it is my first experience as a Governor so all is very exciting and new. I am French and live in the UK with my husband since early 2016. I am a project manager and process engineer at Imerys. My scientific background and my personal experience (coming from a very different school system + having to develop English as my day to day language) are hopefully bringing value to the school. On a personal standpoint, this role allows me to meet new people and become integrated more and more in the community.
