Healthy Eating In School

Welcome to Our Healthy Eating Page with lots of tips and recipes for you to try.

In June we will be taking part in the ‘Veg Power  - Eat Them To Defeat Them’ campaign, similar to last year, which unfortunately had to come to an abrupt end due to the first Lockdown. The children were really engaged with the campaign and we saw increased consumption of vegetables at school and in packed lunches. This year we would like to continue this and improve on last year. More information to follow.

In addition we will be taking part in the British Nutrition Foundation Healthy Eating week 14th-18th June 21.   Again more information to follow.

This week’s Recipe: No-pastry mini quiches ( another very popular recipe at cooking club!)

Why not try the no-pastry mini quiche recipe this week. These were very popular at cooking club and the children made them with their chosen added ingredients  eg ham, bacon(does need to be cooked first), sweetcorn, peppers etc. We used  ordinary cheddar cheese (not the low fat option), it's up to you.
It would be great to hear from you if you have tried any of these recipes, or maybe you have some suggestions that we can put on the website. You can message me through eschools.
Look out for a recipe for something sweet at the end of the week, as a treat for the holidays.
