School phases

At Carclaze CP School, our phase structure helps every child feel known, supported and part of a wider community. Rooted in our values of Care, Communicate, Persevere and Sparkle, each phase builds strong relationships and a shared sense of belonging.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2)

Our phases regularly come together for assemblies and shared events, including Harvest and Christmas services. These shared experiences strengthen relationships and bring our school community together.

Phase Leaders

Phase Leaders are central to The Carclaze Way, ensuring consistency, care and high expectations across each phase.

They:

Champion children being ready, respectful and safe
Provide strong pastoral care and support
Work alongside teachers to ensure high-quality learning
Build positive relationships with families

Every child is supported to feel confident, cared for and ready to learn.

Who to Speak To

We believe in working closely with families. Clear communication helps us get things right for every child.

Step 1: Class Teacher

Your child’s class teacher should always be your first point of contact. They know your child best and can support with day-to-day questions or concerns.

Step 2: Phase Leader

If you need further support, you can speak to your child’s Phase Leader.

Teachers may involve Phase Leaders where appropriate
Phase Leaders may contact you directly if needed
